Tue Nov 19 00:07:27 2013 NOTE: OpenVPN 2.1 requires '-script-security 2' or higher to call user-defined scripts or executables Be aware that this might create routing conflicts if you connect to the VPN server from public locations such as internet cafe OpenVPN 2.0-beta16 and earlier used 5000 as the default port. Tue Nov 19 00:07:27 2013 IMPORTANT: OpenVPN's default port number is now 1194, based on an official port number assignment by IANA. I also tried adding push "dhcp-option DNS 192.168.1.1" to the server configuration but this did not appear to alter any behaviour.įrom the docs it says The OpenVPN server machine may need to NAT or bridge the TUN interface to the internet in order for this to work properly but I'm not sure if this is the issue or what particularly is involved.Ĭode: Select all Tue Nov 19 00:07:27 2013 OpenVPN 2.1.4 i686-linux-gnu built on May 31 2013 Plugin /var/packages/VPNCenter/target/lib/radiusplugin.so /var/packages/VPNCenter/target Key /var/packages/VPNCenter/target/etc/openvpn/keys/server.key As I understand it the dhcp-option DNS entry relates to the local IP address on the server side.ĭh /var/packages/VPNCenter/target/etc/openvpn/keys/dh1024.pemĬa /var/packages/VPNCenter/target/etc/openvpn/keys/ca.crtĬert /var/packages/VPNCenter/target/etc/openvpn/keys/server.crt If I try to enter a local ip address in my browser though it can't find the the page. I can ping the local machines both by ip address and machinename.local from a terminal Web browsing is routed through my network, i.e my ip address changes when i go through VPN. ![]() I can access my local network via my the Tunnelblick OpenVPN client and access shared directories If I enter the ip address directly ( ) I get the same result i.e no access. Normally this would direct me to the router if I tried to access it internally. Interestingly the external website 'is' accessible over the VPN connection. If I connect via VPN to my network my browser reports that the internal webpage is not available. I have a intranet (wiki) that I would like to access via OpenVPN running on my Synology NAS ![]()
